Shift Management
Staff clock on and off from the moderator panel. Shifts are stored server-side, so Active Staff shows everyone on duty, not just what your own browser knows about.
Using it
- Start a shift from Shift Control in the moderator panel. A live timer runs from the moment you clock on.
- Take a break with the break toggle. You stay listed as on shift, flagged as on break.
- End the shift when you are done.
Refreshing the page or reopening the panel does not reset your timer — restarting a shift you are already on preserves the original start time.
Limitations worth knowing
No shift history is kept. Ending a shift deletes the record — no duration is stored anywhere. Shift tracking answers “who is on duty now?”, not “how many hours did this person work last month?” If you need totals, record them yourself as shifts end.
Breaks are a flag, not a timer. Going on break marks you as on break; it does not measure how long, and nothing is deducted from anything.
Shifts older than 24 hours are cleared automatically, so someone who closed their tab without clocking off does not sit in Active Staff forever.
Any member of the server can clock themselves on. The shift endpoints check that you are in the server and that you are acting on your own shift, but they do not require a staff permit. You cannot start a shift for someone else, but you can start one for yourself without being staff.
The shift type selector currently offers only Default.
